Gecko Climbing Gym opened mid-April near Happy Valley Road and 19th Avenue, offering a new experience for both beginner and advanced rock climbers to get their wall-scaling fix.
Avid rock climber and owner Chis Tansey began mapping out his plans to open the gym in 2019. The facility features bouldering walls, rope walls up to 30 feet high, a kilter board, a yoga studio with a twinkling-star ceiling and a party room. Climbing classes, group fitness classes, youth climbing team opportunities and summer camp activities are among the offerings.
To get started climbing, day passes, punch passes and annual memberships are available. Equipment rental is also offered.
