Filling a need for assisted living and senior care in the North Valley, The Retreat at Alameda opened last month, offering apartment assisted living and memory care.
The 92,000-square-foot facility has 72 apartments in assisted living, each equipped with refrigerator, microwave washer and dryer. The care center features a large gathering area in the center of the building, a cafe, and a theater. A large activity room also contains a full kitchen for residents who wish to cook, and the building also has a library, exercise room, herb, vegetable and flower gardens.
The memory care wing includes 32 rooms. Monthly rent includes all meals, local transportation, and a variety of planned activities, including trips to places such as local stores and theaters.
