When you think of Arizona Snowbowl, visions of skiers, snowboarders and winter sports enthusiasts instantly come to mind. But for those who simply want to enjoy the beauty of the wintry scenery and take in the view from 11,500 feet, a scenic ride in one of the resort’s Gondola Cabins may help you get your winter fix without setting foot on the ground.
On the way up, riders are treated to views of the cinder cone volcanic field, the Red Rocks in Sedona, and on a clear day―the Grand Canyon. Gondola rides are offered separate from the chair lift rides for skiers and snowboarders for a completely different experience.
Don’t forget your camera as you enjoy the views along the climb. Tickets are sold as roundtrip and there is no unloading at the top of the mountain. The ride is roughly 10–15 minutes long each way.
