Anthem Veterans Memorial Program Needs Youth and Adult Volunteer Help
Two new volunteer opportunities will help support the Anthem Veterans Memorial educational program.
The Youth Ambassador Program seeks volunteers to assist with the following activities:
Art Honoring Veterans All are invited to create and submit original patriotic artwork depicting any of the following: Anthem Veterans Memorial, The Great Seal of the United States, the military branches, veterans and veteran families. Submissions will become property of the Anthem Veterans Memorial and may be photographed for use in future marketing materials, including the Veterans Day program, banners, and brochures. Art may be submitted to the Anthem Community Council Office, 3701 W. Anthem Way, Suite 201, Attn: Communication Department.
Thank You Cards Handmade patriotic cards expressing appreciation for our veterans and their service may be dropped off to the Anthem Community Council Office, 3701 W. Anthem Way, Suite 201, Attn: Communication Department, no later than Nov. 8 to be given at this year’s Veterans Day ceremony. Volunteers for AVM deliver more than 2,000 cards at the event.
Ceremony Volunteers Youth and youth clubs are invited to distribute “thank you” cards to veterans and ceremony programs to attendees at the Veterans Day ceremony, Friday, Nov. 11. Teen volunteers are welcome to assist with seating and informational guidance and clean-up at the ceremony.
Photography and Videography Help High School students are invited to capture highlights of the Veterans Day ceremony. All photos will become property of the Anthem Community Council for Anthem Veterans Memorial marketing and media purposes.
Writing for ‘Salute Our Veterans Program’ Aspiring writers are welcome to submit veteran focus stories and poetry honoring veterans and their families.
The Admiral’s Club seeks adult volunteers to assist with these activities in support of the Anthem Veterans Memorial:
AVM Docents Volunteers to conduct tours at the AVM, teach classes to youth visitors and serve as information sources at the AVM during community events.
Sponsorship/Donors Efforts will support and offset the costs of the ceremony.
Educational Speakers Individuals willing to share their service stories and knowledge about military service with youth.
Additionally, the AVM welcomes adult support in the areas of photography, videography, gardening, and ceremony assistance.
