The cutting boards, all handmade in Texas, are the result of a side business venture between Ivanhoe co-owners Zac Ivanhoe and Ryan MacNeil along with a third partner, a large cabinet builder based out of Texas, who had expressed frustration at letting tons of extra wood from his work go to waste.

“He had been spending millions in dumpster fees disposing, good quality wood,” MacNeil told Valley Vibe. A boating outing between the three dads was where the idea was born to repurpose the leftover wood into handmade cutting boards. The company’s name is Refined Roots. Now, the wood has a new purpose, the owners feel good about saving trees, and consumers can score a high-quality board at about half the cost of retail.
The partners who also have 50 years of combined experience in the automotive sales industry also operate an auto sales/broker business for both car buyers and sellers, making car buying easier, faster and stress-free.
