
Taipei Chinese Culture Summer Camp of Arizona is hosting a free four-day summer camp for DVUSD incoming students in grades 1–9.
Taipei Camp is celebrating its 30th anniversary since it first began in Arizona, honoring the 46th Anniversary of Taiwan and Arizona Sister State and honoring the 47th Anniversary of Phoenix and Taipei Sister Cities. The camp is offered through a partnership between Taipei Chinese Culture Summer Camp of Arizona, Deer Valley Unified School District, Phoenix Sister Cities and Taipei Sister Cities Committee and Arizona Chinese Mandarin and Culture Academy.
The purpose of the camp is to educate students regarding the importance of culture awareness and diversity, build global understanding and friendship, strengthen leadership skills and build team spirit, and gain international perspectives.
Activities include dough arts, lion and dragon dances, Chinese martial arts, Taiwanese folk sports, arts and crafts, traditional dances, calligraphy and painting, Taiwanese pastry making, STEM 3D paper magic, paper folding and cutting, an art contest, and Mandarin songs.
Registration is limited and will be open until filled.
