Boulder Creek High School - Anthem,AZ

BCHS Students Must Pay to Park in Anthem Community Park

Posted on August 11, 2025 by Valley Vibe

Parking passes at Boulder Creek High School get snatched up quickly, and many students who still wish to drive have been utilizing the lower parking lot at Anthem Community Park to park and walk to campus.

When school is in session, roughly 70-90 cars are parked in the lot daily. But, as of the start of the 2025-2026 school year, students who wish to park there are now required to obtain a parking pass and pay a fee for their parking privileges.

ACC notice
This notice was issued to students using the ACC parking lot. The Board of Directors formally approved the fee structure and registration system at its June 25 meeting.

The ACC Board of Directors discussed the matter at its May 22 meeting, after learning of an uptick in incidents involving students. A report noted issues with “speeding, reckless driving, accidents, rowdy behavior, fighting and the presence of extra trash.” These incidents require additional costs in labor, clean-up and monitoring, according to the report presented to the board.

At its June 25 meeting, the ACC Board voted in favor of implementing the mandatory student parking registration program to “increase accountability, improve oversight, and maintain the parking lot as a viable option for students while preventing displacement into surrounding neighborhoods,” the report stated.

The lower parking lot in Anthem Community Park has been designated as the overflow lot for BCHS students.

The registration system informs the ACC who is parking in the parking lot and provides the ability to track the offending individuals when incidents occur. It also ensures that drivers are properly licensed and insured. Numbered parking stickers will be distributed to registered vehicles. The initial 30-day period will focus on monitoring compliance and educational outreach, and once full enforcement begins, active monitoring will take place at entrance/exit points. Registered students and their guests are subject to the rules and expected behavior outlined in the ACC governing documents.
