A new, full-service family-owned automotive dealership focused on making car buying simple has officially rolled into town. Ivanhoe Auto Sales Broker & Liquidation opened its new indoor showroom to showcase some of the cool rides for sale in its current inventory in the Tuscani Pointe Plaza off Carefree Highway & 7th Street.

Owners Zach Ivanhoe and Ryan MacNeil combined have decades of experience working together in the auto industry. Zach served as vice president at a large Valley dealership, working alongside MacNeil, and now they’ve expanded their own team, adding former colleagues into the mix to help customers buy, sell, trade-in or consign vehicles. They began brokering auto deals for customers in late 2025, and they’ve been part of the neighborhood for over a year with their wholesale and liquidations store front at the west end of the plaza, before moving their operations to a much larger space in the same plaza.

When asked why the duo traded the corporate world to pursue their own venture, Zach told Valley Vibe, “We want to take out all the unpleasantries of purchasing a vehicle and make it a fun experience.”

Shake Shack

The long-awaited first of the restaurants to open along Happy Valley Road at the northeast corner of North Valley Parkway, Shake Shack, known for its fast-casual burgers, fries and shakes opened Tuesday, July 7 in the Union Street at Norterra plaza, at 2222 W. Happy Valley Road.

Firebirds Woodfired Grill, an American Restaurant with a scratch kitchen serving hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, chicken, ribs, pasta, burgers and sandwiches opened July 28 at 2250 W. Happy Valley Road.

CAVA, a Mediterranean fast-casual chain, was scheduled to open later this summer, but has been pushed back to early fall, a spokesperson for the chain told Valley Vibe. First Watch, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Paris Baguette and bb.q Chicken– Korean fried chicken, have all signed lease agreements in the Union Street at Norterra Development, according to Red Development. Plans also include a yet-to-be-named specialty grocery store.

Harkins Theatres in Norterra is undergoing a transformation to include two new CINÉXL™ premium large format auditoriums featuring 4K laser projection, Dolby Atmos^® 3D object-based sound and huge screens. Ultimate Lounger^® reclining seats are being installed in every auditorium and one auditorium will feature a new 4D E-Motion^® experience, combining motion-enabled seats with effects such as wind, water mist, scent and vibration. Upgrades are expected to be completed later this summer.

Happy Valley Crossroads

Construction on two new buildings in the Happy Valley Crossroads Plaza at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and 17th Avenue is nearing shell completion, Red Hawk Development Managing Director Charles Eckert told Valley Vibe.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

Signed lease agreements are in place with Scooter’s Coffee in the south building near Happy Valley Road, alongside a vacant 1,300-square-foot space designed to accommodate another pick-up style restaurant with direct exposure to Happy Valley Road. The building to the north will house the Nothing Bundt Cakes, which also has a signed lease, along with another available 1,000-square-foot space adjacent to the space dedicated for the elevated dining restaurant which will be named “The Charles,”
Eckert said.

Plans for the American-fare-style restaurant will be similar to a “Kierland-style” type of dining, while being locally owned and operated.

The developer is waiting on permit approval from the city, so construction is at a bit of a standstill, however August is the project’s targeted completion date, which will then allow tenants to work on the buildout for their spaces.

Dove Valley Road & 29th Avenue

Luna Grill The California-based made-to-order fast casual Mediterranean-style cuisine chain is opening its fourth Arizona location near Dove Valley Road and 29th Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The menu consists of a variety of dishes including plates, bowls, kabobs, salads and pitas, with fresh ingredients seasoned, marinated and cooked over an open flame.

Daja and Jordan Lee are opening Tropical Sno in Anthem.

Tropical Sno Cone A new place to enjoy a cool treat is opening in the commerce center plaza with Rusty’s, Firehouse Subs and Anytime Fitness. Tropical Sno, locally owned and operated by the Lee family, officially opens its doors on Saturday, Aug. 8.

The flavor combinations are endless and include a menu with favorites and classic combinations. You can also add a non-dairy flavored cream topping to your favorite concoction. Lite and sugar-free options are also available.
