A Hyatt Studios Hotel, offering apartment-style suites for extended stays, is planning to locate near the northeast corner of Sonoran Desert Drive and 29th Avenue.
The parcel is already zoned C2 for commercial use by the City, however a height waiver allowance is needed for the project, and removal of a prior zoning stipulation established under a previous case for a project that was never developed.

Hyatt is looking to construct a four-story hotel with 114 rooms and 119 parking spaces. If approved, the hotel would be constructed of wood framing over concrete foundations and an overall building height of approximately 48 feet.
The studios are designed for extended stays, complete with an equipped kitchen with a cooktop, a microwave, full-sized refrigerator and dishwasher, as well as a large work desk area.
A QuikTrip fuel station and convenience store already received preliminary approval by the City and is planned to be constructed on the western portion of the parcel.
