A new area softball club created as a 10U, 12U and 14U league for girls is preparing for its second season serving the North Valley.
Anthem Red Softball is the sister program of the Anthem Blue Baseball program, literally. “The baseball program began several years ago, and as the sisters of some of the baseball players became interested in playing softball, we saw a need for a program in this area,” said Chris Dwyer, organization president.
The club not only helps girls ages 9–14 advance their next level of play by competing against local and regional travel teams, Anthem Red plays for fallen first responders. “We dedicate each game to a fallen hero and honor them by reading about their lives and families left behind. Our purpose is to recognize that there is more to life than the game of softball,” Dwyer told Valley Vibe.
Fall 2021 was the inaugural softball season for Anthem Red 10U and 12U softball teams. The 10U team won championship rings in four out of five tournaments and the 12U girls brought home two rings.
Dwyer said the goal for the spring/summer 2022 season is to add the 14U team. Interested players can contact Chris Dwyer at 602-469-9991 or email [email protected].
